This article is for small businesses who use Xero. If you’ve forgotten your password or you’ve been locked out of your account after entering your password incorrectly, reset your password from the Xero login page. We’ll email you a link to create a new password. The link is valid for 48 hours. If the link expires, you’ll need to request a new one. For security reasons, we don’t email forgotten passwords. Check your email inbox. Once you’ve received our email, use the link to reset your password.

If you’re still waiting for our email, check your junk or spam folders. Sometimes emails from the xero. We recommend you add these domains to your safe senders list to prevent this happening again. If you can’t access your inbox due to the email account being inactive, ask your IT admin to re-activate the email address.

Alternatively, contact Xero Support to verify your Xero account. You can change the password you use to log in to Xero while you’re logged in. Read our tips for selecting a strong password to keep your Xero account safe. Click on your initials or profile image, then click Account.

If you see a warning in Xero, you’ll need to confirm it was a legitimate login before changing your email address. Your new email address can’t already be used in Xero. If it is, you can invite the email address as a user into the organisation. It’s not possible to merge multiple Xero logins.
